He obtained his undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Mass Communication in 1991 and his postgraduate degree in Bachelor of Laws in 1997 from Silliman University.

He passed the 1997 bar examinations, and after his admission to the bar on May 8, 1998, he went into corporate practice (special projects and project finance) and subsequently into trial practice.

He joined the firm in 2001 as a trial lawyer, handling administrative, commercial, civil, criminal, labor, family, real property and property development, aviation, and tax cases.  He also represents clients in commercial and voluntary arbitration cases and negotiates collective bargaining agreements.
